Mary Robinette Kowal has issued a Month of Letters challenge! The idea is to mail a letter a day every day the post is running.
So yes, I am going to participate. This is a great chance to write letters to everyone I’ve been meaning to write letters to. I’ve already been collecting addresses–and I will continue to be collecting them as I go along.
There is just something special about hand-written notes of ideas, day-to-day thoughts, encouragement, and so on. Not all letters will be profound, but some of them will.
This month I will be posting proof, in case you don’t believe me. I’m not saying the “old ways are better” but I am saying that letter-writing has something special to offer that is lost in instaneous-Internet translation.
What about you? Willing to participate?
